Our virtual private servers include full root access to install and run any applications which you may need (including Perl and Python). Java/
JVM (particularly compiling Java applications) often requires a great deal of allocated memory and is not recommended with our lower-level VPS plans.
Javascript is a client-side technology, so whether or not your website's visitors are able to interact with it will depend upon their browser software (and not your server's capabilities).

Our Link-1 plan can be used as a webserver (we have low-memory Debian 5 nginx and Debian 5 lighttpd OS templates for this purpose).
