I agree, that question is worded awkwardly - we didn't want to include any trick questions, (didn't want to make it too easy, either) so I'll take another look at the wording.

I hate to be the lone dissenting voice but It did not recommend the plan I am on.

Well that's what this thread is for - which options did you select on Question #5 and which plan are you actually using?

database, email, webserver-dynamic

It suggested link 4+. I am link 3. I think that recommendation is a stretch.

An email, database, and dynamic web-server with 256Mb ram hosting 5-10 dynamic/db-driven sites is just asking for trouble. Ever experience the digg effect ? I'm not saying it's impossible, but unless the service configs are tailored to the allotted resources, I'd have a fallback plan ready. Just wasn't enough breathing room for me.

There's an argument for both recommendations - the goal of the plan advisor is to recommend a plan that will provide enough memory for day-to-day operations and Cwewmpz has a point - while it would take a great deal of work to Digg-proof a Link-3, I found that my Debian VPS was only using 190 MB of memory while running MySQL, Apache2, and postfix with a few web requests to PHP applications.

I will tweak the memory allocations associated with e-mail applications to get the plan advisor's estimate closer to a realistic deployment with a default configuration.

Note that the plan advisor's recommendations are based upon default service configurations' memory profiles; there is plenty of evidence - like the how-to's posted at LowEndBox.com - that it is possible to tweak one's configuration and perform some truly impressive feats within a Link-1's allocation... but it wouldn't be reasonable to expect that everyone will have the time and skill requisite.

Well, you should add how much budget do you have because I dont have for a Link 4 with cPanel monthly(I do have it and for Link 5, but I need it for other things). I dont say that it should lower the needs based on the questionaree but should advice on the user that lowering needs help lowering the price(I dont know what I am saying). But jus take that in mind. Not everyone can afford all plans. Also, the Link 1 1 month is used by many kids to test the service... Which Ive realised during my referral program, so giving what they need for the price they want is impossible but you should tell them that, not tell them that you need a Link 4, but you can afford Link 1. LOL.

This is true, however, at some point in time we have to assume that whomever is using the plan advisor will know whether or not he or she wants to use VPSLink (and I am certain price will be a factor there).

If you came across a form that essentially said "How much do you want to spend today?" on a business website, wouldn't you be just a bit suspicious about it?
