We plan to provide backup storage functionality which should prove to be ideal for this type of scenario in the future, however, the best process I can recommend at this point would be to temporarily move your files to a trusted location and attempt an upgrade (with the fall-back plan of reinstalling your operating system template).

dpkg --list will generate a list of installed packages on your system to facilitate audit so you can mirror your setup after upgrading (may come in handy).

Having local backup storage will be excellent. I look forward to the announcement. And in the meantime, I will muddle through the upgrade and hope not to do a catastrophic recovery.

Thanks for your rapid responses.

I'm having a few network issues with a fresh Lenny template. It was a link-2 server that I recently upgraded (twice in 2 hours might I add) up to link-4. I then nuked the Etch installation I had and chose Lenny. Now comes the fun part.

I can SSH into the server from my other VPS (link-5). But, once inside, it cannot resolve hostnames, ping IP addresses, or anything really. Not in a major rush, but I have a ticket open. Any ideas?

Oh, and yes, I tried ping and ping6.

For any future reference, this issue was related to a problem with /etc/resolv.conf The support staff should be able to fix this in a jiffy

*Came across this message while looking for something else, thought I might post the solution*
