Does anyone use munin on centos and get the iostat plugin to work? Seems iostat png is not created otherwise all the other graphs are fine. the problem seems to be xen based though the answer I found does not seem to work.

Does iostat itself work on the CLI? I haven't had any success on a Debian 5 OpenVZ Link6.
Code:[13][nyl6 ~]:# iostat -p ALL -m Linux 2.6.18-128.2.1.el5.028stab064.7 03/05/2010 _i686_ avg-cpu: %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 2.38 0.00 1.07 1.67 0.00 94.88 Device: tps MB_read/s MB_wrtn/s MB_read MB_wrtn hdisk0 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 hdisk1 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 hdisk2 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 hdisk3 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 [14][nyl6 ~]:#
FWIW, it gives results on an ubuntu 8.04 Xen:
Code:$ sudo iostat -p ALL -m Linux 2.6.18-128.7.1.el5xen (not.here.net) 06/03/2010 avg-cpu: %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 0.70 0.00 0.34 1.30 0.04 97.62 Device: tps MB_read/s MB_wrtn/s MB_read MB_wrtn ram0 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram1 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram2 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram3 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram4 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram5 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram6 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram7 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram8 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram9 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram10 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram11 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram12 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram13 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram14 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 ram15 0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 sda1 16.85 0.02 0.11 219977 949623 sda2 0.13 0.00 0.00 17425 1175
Unfortunately, OpenVZ does not support iostat, however, vmstat can be run to gather general system and I/O information.
I did get munin to run with io data of disk sda1,sda2 hoping to diagnosis some weird performance issue ever since there was a reboot. Anyone wanna take a look? :P.
Munin will never run completely on openvz well because there's no disk data to monitor and not all memory markers are available to chart.
