    Default cant login with ssh

    I've just signed up for the link 1 plan, but I cant seem to login with ssh. The OS of my vps is Debian 4.0-i386-RoR-apache, and the OS on my PC is Arch Linux. Here is the output from ssh:

    I've tried both the password I use to login to control center and the password I regenerated in the VPS control center but neither seems to work. I also tried logging in with my username set to root and my registration name. Any ideas on what to do?

    Also, I dont seem to be able to stop, start, reboot, or rebuild the OS in the control center. The status message always says cant "stop, start, reboot, build etc". Should I be able to do these things?

    One more thing, I dont seem to be able to lodge a support ticket. I get a page saying forbidden, even though I am logged in and it has my account name there.

    Cheers

    Geoff,

    I've located your account and am taking a look at the situation. Are you still unable to log in?

    I'm able to get a login prompt through ssh and was also able to submit a test support ticket. If you are still experiencing issues please send me a PM. I was unable to verify authentication works as I don't know the root password.

    Hi there,,

    I am having the exact same problem. Have submitted a support ticket (#6902372).

    Have tried Ubuntu, Centos and Debian and all have the same issue - can't log in via SSH (from a variety of clients) and the start/stop/restart controls in the console all return saying they didn't work.

    The container inspected also returns nothing except the column headers

    Container '' is on at Fri Apr 2 02:04:25 2010

    Running processes:

    Network connections:
    PROTO RECV_Q SEND_Q LOCAL_ADDR REMOTE_ADDR PID/PROGRAM STATE

    I tried logging in from another PC as well using winxp and the java terminal and got the same result. Also like you say, the container inspector shows nothing.

    @geoffvps

    I was able to update the password and connect through SSH successfully. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    @mushion22

    I'll take a look at the ticket and provide an update as soon as possible.

    I'm still not able to log in.

    I tried using the password in the support ticket, but it would not work.

    Its worse now - I tried to stop it from the console to regenerate the password. The message said it can't stop, but now I can't connect to it at all. The console still says it's running, but the reboot and start buttons do not work.

    Will update the support ticket.

    @mushion22

    The password has been reset and login looks to be working from this end.

    Please refer to the support ticket for full details.
