Default php-mbstring Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_strtolower()

    Hi,

    I am on a VPS Link-4 plan.

I am running Centos with Cpanel. White trying to install a module on a CMS which uses UTF-8 (which became the default charset) I got the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_strtolower()

Aparently the php-mbstring library is missing.
yum install php-mbstring says "No package php-mbstring available."

phpinfo shows mbstring is not linked into the PHP. After intalling centos and cpanel onto my VPS, I recompiled PHP using WHM EasyApache with PHP Encryption and Image Manipulation.

    './configure' '--disable-pdo' '--enable-bcmath' '--enable-calendar' '--enable-ftp' '--enable-gd-native-ttf' '--enable-libxml' '--enable-magic-quotes' '--enable-sockets' '--prefix=/usr' '--with-freetype-dir=/usr' '--with-gd' '--with-imap=/opt/php_with_imap_client/' '--with-imap-ssl=/usr' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr' '--with-kerberos' '--with-libxml-dir=/opt/xml2/' '--with-mcrypt=/opt/libmcrypt/' '--with-mysql=/usr' '--with-mysql-sock=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' '--with-png-dir=/usr' '--with-ttf' '--with-xpm-dir=/usr' '--with-zlib' '--with-zlib-dir=/usr'

How can I link php-mbstring into my server?

    Regards,
    Alex

Resolved the issue by recompiling apache using Main >> Software >> EasyApache (Apache Update) >> Previously Saved Config >> Start Customising based On Profile >> Select PHP and APAChe Verisons >> Exhaustive Options >> Mbstring checkbox is there.
