    Default Vpslink Centos Mirrors has been disabled

    I noticed a few days ago I could not do a yum update and a support ticket was answered that the vpslink mirrors has been disabled. Just an fyi.

    The mirror should now be usable again.

    hello dartman. I have opened a ticket for this issue and was informed by tier 2 support that the repository was removed. If the issue is urgent you can use the official centos mirrors. I have no issues since 5.4 to the latest 5.5 today.

    There may be some confusion until matt@vpslink responds. Please private message him to resolve this issue.

    Default linux

    nstalled CentOS 5 and ran into this same problem. Ran through all of the steps mentioned and followed the LAMP routines listed on the wiki with no luck. Guess it's down to installing things old school I guess. Maybe this is a Cent issue with the low end VPS plan? Only need httpd/ssh so 64Mb should suffice for the cost but this isn't enough for apps like yum on the OpenVZ setup

    this is an old topic. you simply need to edit the /etc/yum.repos.d to the default ones. here is an example

    [base]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Base
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #released updates
    [updates]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Updates
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=updates
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/updates/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #additional packages that may be useful
    [extras]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Extras
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=extras
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/extras/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #additional packages that extend functionality of existing packages
    [centosplus]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Plus
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=centosplu s
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/centosplus/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=0
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    #contrib - packages by Centos Users
    [contrib]
    name=CentOS-$releasever - Contrib
    mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=contrib
    #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/contrib/$basearch/
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=0
    gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

    Was this a new install? Which template was used? The templates were updated last year to point to the default CentOS repositories.
