After getting it installed, did you remember to initiate the database with:

    Code:
    vnstat -u -i venet0
It will display an error - "Unable to read database ...New database generated" but that is fine. Then just wait at least 5 minutes and do:

    Code:
    vnstat

i have done that, but it keeps throwing me this:

venet0: Not enough data available yet.
its unlikely... but maybe theres a min traffic to record?

If you've just initiated the database then yes you'll have to wait a bit for a minimal amount of traffic to be recorded.

I know I'm a little late to the game on this thread, but my vnstat has been installed for over 24 hours and still nothing. And, in the past 24 hours, I've received at least 5k page views on one site. I did notice there are two venet interfaces (venet0 and venet0:0). What did I do wrong?

    Using Ubuntu Edgy Eft BTW...

Did you install the crontab entry for it?
Without that, it definitely won't report any stats.

If you did make the crontab entry, make sure crontab actually is aware of it.
You can check with: crontab -l

I initially had this for 24+ hours:
    Code:
    2 * * * * /usr/bin/vnstat -u
    Still not enough data...

I just modified the entry to this:
    Code:
    2 * * * * /usr/bin/vnstat -u -i venet0
So... we'll see. Guess I'll check back tomorrow morning.
