[Ubuntu 9.04] installing pecl IMAGICK ERROR `make' failed!

hello! im having issues after doing:

sudo apt-get install php-pear
sudo apt-get install imagemagick
sudo pecl install imagick

the last line gave me this error:

make: *** [imagick_helpers.lo] Error 1
ERROR: `make' failed

what do i do first? =( my box is ubuntu 9, link-2. is there something in the code thats wrong? or some dependency that is not set up right? i’m really the noob of all noobs. help

For the mean time I installed the 2.2.x version. Does anyone have any idea what happened here? Thanks

Try this:

sudo apt-get install libmagickwand-dev

Then:

sudo pecl install imagick

Any luck?
