Question Help: Can't Connect to MySQL

Hi, I was trying to setup LAMP with Ubuntu following the instructions on this page:-

Quote:
VPS Link >Wiki > Ubuntu > HOWTO:_Install_LAMP_on_Ubuntu_6.06
but when i try to restart the mysql i keep on getting this error:-
Code:
Please take a look at the syslog.
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!
I'm new to server etc so, you help will be really appreciated. I'm trying to setup a website to use TangoCMS and E-Mail etc for our thinking group...lol
